The back yard is fully fenced with 6′ cedar fencing. A drive-thru and people gate is on the west side.
In the front trained across the garage is an anemone clematis which blooms fantastically in the spring. Trees in the front are a large japanese laceleaf maple, a white pine topiary, a blue juniper topiary, two birchs, a pear, a fire maple and rare Spanish fir.
The red tree peonie is 30 years old along with Lily of the Valley, purple violets, heavenly bamboo, azaleas, dogwoods, rhodies, hardy fuchia, native ferns and hebe. Also a white lilac and black pines with periwinkle as a ground cover. English laurel provides privacy on the west side of the yard.
In the back, a split-rail fence provides a break between the patio/bank area and the large back lawn. Several climbing roses are trained on the fence.
Across the middle of the yard are two apples (one grafted multiple types), a pear, an asian pear (grafted multiple types) and a peach. Elsewhere in the yard is a producing fig, grape, kiwi and rhubarb. The bank has mature azaleas, davidii, heather, a laceleaf Japanese maple and several types of Japanese iris.
Other plants in the backyard consist of rhodies, camellias (Bob Hope and Nuccio’s Pearl), a large lilac, a ginko, a large native maple, a rare native orchid and native vine maples, a deodar cedar, two white pines and numerous conical junipers to provide privacy across the back.
There is also a rose garden against the fence where the sun shines in the afternoon. Under the eaves across the patio is a white Japanese wisteria.
During the summer, 5′ tall impatiens provide a beautiful flowering background. The lawn is a special draught-resistant, hearty strain. The back retaining wall retains warmth and provides an excellent spot to grow zucchini or tomatoes in full sun during the summer.
An 8′ X 10′ garden sheds has enough space for tools, lawnmower and patio furniture in the winter.
A gravel RV pad with 30 amp receptacle is along the west side of the house.
